Kobe walking calmly on a loose lead after completing training

KOBE'S STORY

Doberman |  2 Years Old

Challenges: Dog reactivity, poor focus, lead handling and confidence.

The Challenge
Kobe is a young Doberman, while a friendly dog, he struggled with reactivity around other dogs and found it difficult to remain engaged with his owner when distractions were present.
Walks had become stressful, with his owners often feeling as though they lacked the tools and confidence needed to manage him effectively in public environments.

The Training | Fundamentals Programme
Kobe completed our Fundamentals Programme, focusing on:
✓ Lead handling and communication
✓ Engagement and focus work
✓ General obedience
✓ Structured socialisation and exposure
✓ Building confidence around other dogs
✓ Developing calm, reliable behaviour in everyday situations
A key focus was helping Kobe understand what was expected of him while building his confidence and ability to make better decisions around distractions.

The Result
By the end of the programme, Kobe had become noticeably calmer, more engaged and easier for his owners to handle.
His ability to focus around distractions improved significantly, allowing his owners to enjoy walks with greater confidence and less stress. Most importantly, they left with a better understanding of how to communicate effectively with him and continue building on the foundations established during training.

"Kobe has just completed a 5-day Fundamentals Training Course with Ollie and the results have been incredible.
From the very first moment they met, Kobe absolutely loved Ollie and the bond they've formed is something very special.
Kobe was heavily dog reactive and struggled to focus, but in such a short space of time the transformation has been amazing. He's now much calmer, more engaged and actually able to focus and listen, even with dogs around.
Ollie didn't just train Kobe, he taught me how to properly communicate with him and the support and knowledge he's given me are invaluable and truly life changing.
I genuinely couldn't recommend Ollie more."

JAXX'S STORY

Mastiff Cross | Approx 2 Years Old

Challenges: Low engagement, poor impulse control, distractions around other dogs and prey drive.

The Challenge
Jaxx's owners wanted greater confidence and control when handling him, particularly given his size and strength.
Although friendly, Jaxx struggled with engagement and impulse control, often prioritising environmental distractions over his owners. His prey drive and excitement around other dogs made it difficult for his owners to feel fully confident in real-world situations.

The Training | Fundamentals Programme
Jaxx completed our Fundamentals Programme with a focus on:
✓ Engagement and relationship building
✓ Impulse control
✓ Recall training
✓ Lead handling
✓ General obedience
✓ Making better choices around distractions
Training centred around helping Jaxx slow down, think through situations and focus on his handler rather than immediately reacting to what was happening around him.

The Result
Jaxx developed significantly better engagement, stronger obedience and improved impulse control.
Rather than immediately acting on instinct, he learned to pause, think and look to his owners for guidance. His improved recall and lead manners have given his owners greater confidence and control, helping them enjoy more freedom and reliability in everyday life.

"Our Mastiff Cross, Jaxx, has just finished five days of training with Ollie and the results have been incredible.
From the initial consultation, I knew Jaxx was in safe hands. Ollie focused on engagement and impulse control, and the progress has been beyond what I thought possible.
I never would have expected Jaxx to be off lead around another dog so soon.
Ollie is personable, open and a fantastic communicator. His passion for the dogs he works with is clear, and his handover was thorough and supportive.
We are so proud of Jaxx and so grateful for Ollie's help."

Blu remaining calm around other dogs after completing reactive dog training with Rogue Canine.

BLU'S STORY

Cane Corso | 1 Year Old

Challenges: Reactivity towards people and dogs, poor lead handling, lack of neutrality around triggers.

The Challenge
When Blu first joined Rogue Canine, everyday walks had become stressful and unpredictable. He was highly reactive towards both people and dogs, often reacting to triggers from significant distances.
His owner frequently found themselves unable to complete walks, as Blu's reactions would escalate to the point where they felt the only option was to turn around and head home. With multiple dogs in the household, the owner also wanted to build a calmer, more manageable pack dynamic and ensure all dogs could enjoy life together safely.

The Training | Fundamentals Programme
Blu completed our Fundamentals Programme before moving onto ongoing 1-2-1 support.

Throughout training we focused on:
✓ Lead handling and communication
✓ General obedience
✓ Engagement and focus around distractions
✓ Structured socialisation and exposure work
✓ Building neutrality around people and dogs
✓ Developing calm, reliable behaviour in real-world environments
Through carefully managed exposure and consistent guidance, Blu learned that reacting to every trigger was no longer necessary and that his owner could provide clear direction and leadership

The Result
Blu developed significantly improved lead manners, stronger engagement with his owner and increased neutrality around environmental triggers.
Rather than immediately reacting to everything around him, Blu became more capable of processing situations calmly and making better choices. His owners now have the foundations needed to continue building confidence and reliability while working towards their long-term goal of managing all dogs together as a balanced pack.

"I left my Cane Corso and Cocker Spaniel with Ollie for just one week and honestly… they came back like two different dogs.
Before, I couldn't even walk them together. Now they both walk to heel, snap straight into place and stay there until released. The difference is massive.
There's still plenty of work to do, but the foundations Ollie has put in are unreal. He'll be working closely with us over the next year to make them properly bulletproof, and I couldn't be more confident in the process.
One of the best trainers out there and an absolute top lad. Highly recommend."

Smokey before beginning recall and lead training with Rogue Canine.

SMOKEYS STORY

Labrodor | 4 Years Old

Challenges: Dog reactivity, history of dog fights, poor lead manners and owner confidence.

The Challenge
When Smokey first came to Rogue Canine, his owners were becoming increasingly concerned about his behaviour around other dogs.
Following multiple dog fights while under the care of a dog walker, Smokey had developed reactivity both on and off lead. His owners were worried about his safety, the safety of other dogs and lacked confidence when navigating social situations in public.
Walks had become stressful, lead manners had deteriorated and it was becoming increasingly difficult to trust Smokey around distractions.

The Training | Fundamentals Programme
Smokey completed a one-week intensive training programme before progressing onto a five-week group training course and ongoing support.

Training focused on:
✓ Lead manners and handler control
✓ Structured walking routines
✓ Engagement and focus
✓ Controlled dog exposure
✓ Neutrality around other dogs
✓ Impulse control and social skills
✓ Recall and off-lead reliability

We first established clear communication and structure before gradually introducing controlled exposure to other dogs. Using a combination of fair guidance and positive reinforcement, Smokey learned how to remain calm, make better choices and focus on his handler in challenging environments.
Following his intensive programme, Smokey joined our group classes where we continued to develop his obedience, confidence and ability to remain engaged around distractions.

The Result
Today, Smokey is a calm, responsive and confident dog who can comfortably exist around other dogs without conflict.
His lead manners have improved dramatically, his focus on his owner has increased and he now spends more time off lead than on lead, even in environments that would previously have been overwhelming.
Most importantly, his owners now feel confident and empowered when handling him, allowing them to enjoy walks and adventures together without the stress and uncertainty they once experienced.

"Highly recommend Rogue Canine. Ollie has been brilliant with our 3-year-old Labrador, Smokey, helping to correct his reactivity with other dogs while also teaching him good manners such as loose lead walking and recall.
Ollie not only works with your dog, he also helps and supports you as an owner on how to manage and maintain those behaviours long term.
Ollie has helped Smokey become a better version of himself while still keeping his character and personality.
Thank you, Ollie, for all your help."

Orla before starting reactive dog training with Rogue Canine in Warrington.

ORLA'S STORY

Doberman | 3 Years Old

Challenges: Fear-based reactivity towards dogs and people, lead handling, confidence and general obedience

The Challenge
When Orla first joined Rogue Canine, she was struggling with significant fear-based reactivity towards both dogs and people, particularly when on lead.
Previous training attempts had unfortunately left her owners feeling frustrated and lacking confidence. Rather than improving, Orla's world had gradually become smaller. Walks were carefully planned to avoid encounters with other dogs, and exercise was often limited to private hire fields where she wouldn't be exposed to triggers.
Despite these challenges, Orla was an incredibly intelligent dog with huge potential. What she needed wasn't avoidance, but the opportunity to build confidence and learn new coping strategies in a structured and supportive way.

The Training | Fundamentals Programme
Orla completed our Fundamentals Programme before moving onto ongoing 1-to-1 support with her owner.
Training focused on:
✓ Building confidence around dogs and people
✓ Structured socialisation and exposure work
✓ Reward marker training
✓ Lead handling and communication
✓ General obedience
✓ Developing calm, reliable behaviour around triggers
Rather than relying on training tools, we stripped everything back and focused on helping Orla understand the world around her. Through carefully managed exposure and positive reinforcement, she learned that she could remain calm and make better choices when faced with situations that had previously overwhelmed her.
A key part of the programme was also helping her owner develop the confidence and handling skills needed to continue making progress together.

The Result
Within a short period of time, Orla became noticeably calmer, happier and more confident around situations that had previously triggered reactive behaviour.
Her ability to remain engaged with her handler improved significantly, allowing her owners to start rebuilding the freedom and quality of life they had lost through avoidance.
Training continues through ongoing 1-to-1 sessions as we help both Orla and her owner build confidence, reliability and trust in a variety of real-world environments.

Owner Feedback
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"Ollie has been working with Orla for less than two weeks now to help with her fear-based reactivity, and the progress we've seen already has been incredible.
She is noticeably more confident, happier and much calmer in situations that would have previously overwhelmed her.
Ollie's depth of knowledge and understanding of dog behaviour, especially with more sensitive or reactive dogs, really stands out. He has shown nothing but patience and kindness with Orla and it's clear that he genuinely cares about her wellbeing.
I'm so grateful for the positive impact Ollie has already had, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate and dedicated dog trainer."
